The Great Mississippi and Missouri Rivers Flood of 1993 is Known as one of the most destructive and costly floods in the United states history with the damage costing between 15-20 billion dollars. The flood took place between April and October of 1993 and was responsible for 32 deaths.

A Mc Donald's in Festus Missouri  Where no one was grabbing a happy meal on this day as the Mississippi river spilled out of control.

This is the result of bursting levees along the mississippi and misouri rivers in the summer of 1993. The river spilled out of it's banks destroying farms houses and anything in it's way.

Now here in this photo we see a typical high tension electrical line where you have high rise steal structures to support the wires. The water from the river rose so high that it went half way to the top of the structure.  You will also notice in this picture the deer had no where to run or hide, instead swimming was there meathod of getting around as the land they call home was now under deep waters.

a levee breaches and fails in columbia Illinois due to the overwhelming power of the water from all of the rains that fell.
